5 Quick and easy to use, does exactly what it says very well. There are a couple of minor things to keep in mind while using it, like switching to a different voltage for Gameboy Advance or N64 games (if using the corresponding adapter), but these are outlined in the short manual. Works like a flash drive, including playing a game from the cartridge. 5 As simple and easy to use as a flash drive. Worked perfectly for what I needed, which is backing up my carts and saves on those carts to my PC. When I actually bought one, it was better than I though. When I first heard about the Retrode 2 many years ago, I was elated. May take one or two tries for it to read but after that you can drag and drop. Will let my family & friends spread the good word about this product so that more people will use it. Will definitely buy the other plugins to use for the N64, Gameboy. I recommend anyone that want to preserve their games or play on an emulator. Product does what it states in descriptions. Was able to make roms of my SNES & Gensis games to play on emulators. The model I have does not have the expanded pin slots seen in the images and is not compatible with SA-1 enhanced games such as Kirby Super Star and Super Mario RPG. That being said, the creator of the Retrode is no longer working on the device and it is most likely that there will not be an alternative.Īlso, be sure to pay attention to the SNES cartridge connector. 
The Retrode is a great unit to dump your game cartridges onto PC. However, special chip games with the SA-1 chip may not work, which include Kirby Super Star, Kirby Dreamland 3, and Super Mario RPG. These pins are not necessary for operation.
